So.. every year, for the last 16 years I've given my mom a white carnation corsage for Mother's day.
I remember when I was little...
Mother's day would come around and I noticed some woman would have colored corsages, and others would have white ones.
My little curious mind wanted to know why, so I asked...
I was told that the women that wore a colored corsage meant that their mother was still living, and white ones are worn when your mother had passed away.
I was about 7 when I was told this story, but always remembered it.. and every Mother's day
(as weird as it may be)
I would look forward to seeing those little beauties adorned by women.
When my grandmother passed away, I wanted nothing more then to get my mom a white carnation corsage.
I felt like it was my way to say Happy Mother's Day to both my mom and grandma.
16 years later, whether I make it or order it..
she still gets one.
This year she will also be getting one of these...
