I'm a winner!

Happy Friday Eve Sweet Friends!

So I was going to blog about how sad I was that my TOP American Idol pick was voted off tonight.

Pia was one of the best singers this season... and I'm so sad she's gone. I did/do have my favorites, but wanted her to win.

But when I logged on to cry you a river about it I found out I was a WINNER of a super cute hat.
Yes, I won my first give away, and I'M EXCITED!

Let me introduce you to The Rocketeer

How adorable is this little hat? VERY!!
You can fine this and many other at bitOwhimsy or read more about Jacy on her blog.

I can't wait to get it and try it on my sweet Booges!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

HAPPY WEDNESDAY DEAR FRIENDS

It's time to let you all know what I'm loving this week
Link up with Jamie and do the same.

1. I'm LOVING this weeks American Idol... this season is just so amazing (to me anyway). The show is full of wonderful talent. Yes, I do vote... and I must say, this week was hard. I try to be fair (even though I have my favorites) and I ALWAYS vote for my top 3... this week I had to make it a top 4.
(in no particular order)

CASEY ABRAMS

 HAILEY REINHART

 PIA TOSCANO

 STEFANO LANGONE
I really hope none of them get voted off tomorrow.

2. I'm LOVING that Tori and Dean are back...

Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings
I know so many people say a lot of crap not nice things about Tori, but I love her.
I have watch every episode of the whole Tori & Dean series and have read all of her books.
I think for a couple and family in the public eye, they are as normal as it comes.

3. I'm LOVING these Spring looks from Old Navy

I am such a simple and casual dresser, jeans, tee's, and flip flops...
sometimes I feel like I need to step it up a bit.
I think these outfits are a happy medium... I get my comfy jeans and tee's with a pop of cuteness.

4. I'm {always} LOVING my sweet Booges

It's this smile that gets me through my day.

5. I'm {always} LOVING my family, friends, and my lovely and sweet readers.
Thank you for always allowing me to be me...
and giving me a smile, a giggle, and sometimes a deep belly laugh.

10 months {already}

REALLY?!?!!?!!

When and how did this happen? My sweet boy turned 10 months this past Saturday.
Sometimes I look at him and he seems so small, and other times he looks like a little man.

(sweet and toothless with a soggy shirt)

My sweet Oliver is so funny, making mama laugh daily.

(yelling at the pacifier clip because that's how he rolls)

I love that he LOVES people and also can be independant.

(another soggy shirt, mad because he's stuck behind the gate)

He loves music.

(playing with Poppie's guitar)

(playing with daddy's keyboard)

He love sharing EVERYTHING no one else whats... especially teething biscuits.

(yum!)

Out of all the toys in the world... he loves to play with diapers.

(so fun... so intrigued)

Bath time is so much fun.

(Hello Mr Duckie)

Sweet Booges,
Mama loves you so much... you melt my heart each and every day.
You bring me so much joy.
My heart if full!

(big kiss)

if you love accessories... you'll love Charming Charlie

I decided today after work I was going to treat myself to a little shopping (alone) time.
So I went to the mall near work to browse. I ended up in Bath and Body Works, of course I walked out with a bag full of goodies... I then decided to walk into Marshall's HomeGoods (I love this store) to see what I can find since I've been wanting to redecorate some rooms in the house.
As I was making my way through the mall I walked by Charming Charlie.
Now I've heard people talk about this  AMAZING store but never had been... Until today.
I didn't buy much, a cute little contact case and a bracelet... but I'LL BE BACK!

The set up was amazing, as soon as I walked in I was WOWed. Everything was separated by color and so neat and very affordable.
I think there was about 700 things I wanted to buy. Everything from earrings, bracelets, scarves, hats, purses... you name it, they have it.

I came home and found their website... here is a little about the store.

About Charming Charlie

Charming Charlie is a fashion accessory boutique that has been delighting women of all ages since 2004. Through a unique blend of fun, style, color and affordability, Charming Charlie helps shoppers pull together their look through the key finishing touches – earrings, necklaces, bracelets, handbags, scarves, belts ... in a fun, boutique environment.

The Charming Charlie Fun Formula

Selection

My Style of the Day Is…
Charming Charlie stores allow shoppers to find trendy fashion accessories and classic staples to suit any occasion, mood or style. So whether the look you are going for is vintage, modern, ethnic, bohemian, punk rocker, sophisticated... you can find the right fashion accessories at Charming Charlie to complete your look. And that includes those big occasions like weddings, job interviews, cocktail parties, prom…

ColorDelighting the Senses
Charming Charlie can be sensory overload (in a good way). Not only do we serve up an amazing selection, we organize our store by color families. So if you are not up to exploring the vast selection of accessories, you can head straight to the right color family to find your accessories. Accessorizing a red dress and you want “red” or “black” accessories?  Make a bee line for those sections. We keep it simple, so your inner fashion stylist can do the rest.

Value

Eureka! I've Struck Gold!  (And I Can Afford It Too!)
Window shopping is fun, but at Charming Charlie shoppers can find a goldmine of affordable baubles.  So you can take home a bauble or two or three or four. Our fashion jewelry, women’s handbags and accessories are priced primarily between $4.97 and $49.97.

Atmosphere

There's a Party Going on Right Here!
Fun music, sparkly chandeliers, friendly greeters...we want our shoppers to feel like they just stepped into a party. So we are always adding new touches and perks that upgrade the customer experience, hence the chandeliers and the upbeat tunes!

I wish I had my camera with me to capture the beauty my eyes were seeing.

REALLY, if you love accessories... you'll love Charming Charlie.

(by the way, I never made it to HomeGoods, HA)

I can't believe my little Booges is going to be the BIG 1
I've been looking online at different cakes... I LOVE CAKE!

Here are 10 of my favorite designs

Of course I don't have a theme picked out yet
(maybe I should do that before going straight for the cake)
I do know it's going to be something (kinda) simple... a little back yard BBQ with close family and friends.

When you have a themed party, do you pick a cake to match or just go with what ever looks good in the store?
Am I crazy for want to BIG cake for someone that is turning 1?

Top 2 Tuesday (Monday night) Celebrity Hairstyles

It's been a while since I've linked up with Taylor at The Undomestic Momma for Top 2 Tuesday...
I was noticing I was spending a good portion of my evenings online either blogging, facebooking, or shopping.. and I needed to give some things up. Well since then I have decided that I don't need to give up my 'me' time... I just need to manage my time differently.

I am happy to back... I've missed this weekly post.

Top 2 Celebrity Hairstyles

1. Halle Berry she always looks amazing... I love her and her many hairstyles

2. Jessica Alba I think her hairstyles are so simple, and she always looks great.

Looking at these hairstyles has (almost) inspired me to do something different with my own hair.
It normally stays in a messy bun or ponytail... but while on vacation I put a flat iron to it.
After about an hour of blow drying and flat ironing, this is what I ended up with

I was shocked to see how much my hair really had grown out (it's so much shorter all curled up)
and to think, I used to do this every other day.

cousin time {boys will be boys}

While in Denver we celebrated my mom and auntie's birthday
(yes my mom is a twin)
We had a small little back yard cookout.

Oliver had so much fun playing with his older cousin, Noah, who is 1 1/2 years old.
He really enjoyed watching Noah running around the yard
(I'm sure he was wanting to get up and run too)

There were a few uneasy moments and a few first fights. I guess when you get two kids boys together that aren't used to sharing, there will be a small fight or two.
Good thing BIG cousin Jasmine was there to break them up.

But overall, they here happy boys and loved each other.

Seeing these pictures and reliving the moment, really makes me wish I lived closer to Denver.
Family is so important to me.

Do you live far from your family? How do you handle it?
